How to Stream Your Church Service to Your TV

Help for Church Members During Coronavirus

As people everywhere are practicing social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19, we've been thinking about how we might help, even in some small way. So, we've created this page to assist churches and church members that are currently meeting online as a way to protect their communities. If you are currently viewing services from home, we hope that getting them on the largest screen possible might make the experience a little more bearable.

If you need help streaming your service to your TV, answer the two questions below to get step-by-step instructions.

2. I'd Like to Watch on My...
Follow these steps:
1. Go to the Home screen of your Fire TV or Fire TV Stick device.
2. Press left on your remote to navigate to the search screen.
3. Using the directional pad, type Facebook into the search bar, and then select it from the list below.
4. Select the Facebook app and click Get to download it.
5. After the app downloads, open it and log into your Facebook account.
6. Search for your church's Facebook page and select it.
Now you should be able to see your church's newest videos. If they don't go live until a certain time, the video should appear when your church's stream starts.
Follow these steps:
1. Go to the Home screen of your Fire TV or Fire TV Stick device.
2. Press left on your remote to navigate to the search screen.
3. Using the directional pad, type YouTube into the search bar, and then select it from the list below.
4. Select the YouTube app and click Get to download it.
5. After the app downloads, open it.
6. Search for your church's YouTube channel and select it.
Now you should be able to see your church's newest videos. If they don't go live until a certain time, the video should appear when your church's stream starts.
Follow these steps:
1. Go to the Home screen of your Apple TV.
2. Locate the App Store and click on it.
3. Scroll to the top menu and click on the search icon .
4. Type Facebook into the search bar.
5. Select the Facebook Watch app below and click Get to download it.
6. After the app downloads, open it and log into your Facebook account.
7. Search for your church's Facebook page and select it.
Now you should be able to see your church's newest videos. If they don't go live until a certain time, the video should appear when your church's stream starts.
Follow these steps:
1. Go to the Home screen of your Apple TV.
2. Locate the App Store and click on it.
3. Scroll to the top menu and click on the search icon .
4. Type YouTube into the search bar.
5. Select the YouTube app below (not YouTube TV) and click Get to download it.
6. After the app downloads, open it.
7. Search for your church's YouTube channel and select it.
Now you should be able to see your church's newest videos. If they don't go live until a certain time, the video should appear when your church's stream starts.
Follow these steps:
1. Make sure your Chromecast device is set up. If you need help, follow Google's instructions here.
2. Make sure your mobile device or computer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as Chromecast. If you need to, here are instructions on how to change the Wi-Fi network of Chromecast.
3. Open the Facebook app on your mobile device or Facebook.com on your computer.
4. Search for your church's Facebook page and click on the video you'd like to play.
5. Click the expand button to make the video fullscreen.
6. Tap the Cast button located at the bottom right corner of the video.
7. Select your Chromecast device from the list.
8. Now your video will play on your TV. You can play/pause the video using your computer or mobile device.
9. When you're done, you can tap the Cast button again to disconnect.
Follow these steps:
1. Make sure your Chromecast device is set up. If you need help, follow Google's instructions here.
2. Make sure your mobile device or computer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as Chromecast. If you need to, here are instructions on how to change the Wi-Fi network of Chromecast.
3. Open the YouTube app on your mobile device or YouTube.com on your computer.
4. Search for your church's YouTube page and find the video you'd like to play.
5. Tap the Cast button . On the YouTube app, the Cast button is at the top of the Home screen. From YouTube.com on your laptop, it's in the bottom right corner of the video player.
6. Select your Chromecast device from the list.
7. Now your video will play on your TV. You can play/pause the video using your computer or mobile device.
8. When you're done, you can tap the Cast button again to disconnect.
Unfortunately, there is not currently a way to stream Facebook videos on a Roku device. If you know a way around this issue, please contact us through the link below, and we will update this page as a way to help others.
Follow these steps:
1. Go to the Home screen of your Roku device.
2. Click on the Streaming Channels menu option.
3. Select Search Channels from the menu and type YouTube into the search bar.
4. Click on the YouTube app and select Add channel.
5. If you have a Roku PIN, enter it.
6. Select Go to channel or navigate to the channel on your home screen.
7. In the YouTube app, search for your church's YouTube channel and select it.
Now you should be able to see your church's newest videos. If they don't go live until a certain time, the video should appear when your church's stream starts.
With so many different Smart TV options out there, it's difficult for us to give exact directions without knowing your specific device, but here are a few steps that should apply to most scenarios.
1. Check to see if your Smart TV gives you the ability to access or download apps.
2. If so, locate the Facebook Watch app (if available) and download it if necessary.
3. Open the Facebook Watch app.
4. Log into your Facebook account.
5. Search for your church's Facebook page and select it.
Now you should be able to see your church's newest videos. If they don't go live until a certain time, the video should appear when your church's stream starts.
With so many different Smart TV options out there, it's difficult for us to give exact directions without knowing your specific device, but here are a few steps that should apply to most scenarios.

2. If so, locate the YouTube app and download it if necessary.
3. Open the YouTube app.

With so many video hosting options out there, it's difficult for us to give exact directions without knowing your church's specific setup, but here are a few steps that should apply to most scenarios.
1. Check to see if the video on your church's website is an embed of a Facebook of YouTube video. Look for the Facebook icon or the YouTube icon on the video player to help you determine if this is the case. If you determine that the video is hosted by one of these sites, change your selection to question #1 above to the correct answer and follow the directions provided.
2. If the video is not hosted by Facebook or YouTube, see if your church provides any instructions on how you might stream the content to your device. If your church uses a popular app platform like Subsplash or The Church App, they might even have an app you can download to your Apple TV or Roku device.
